As Director of Lifelong Learning, Rabbi Scott “Seeg” Segal oversees the Synagogue’s religious school, youth programming, and adult education. His goal is to lead a fantastic, creative and progressive twenty-first century school that will give our children a leading edge Reconstructionist Jewish education.
Rabbi Seeg brings enormous energy, creativity, a love of Judaism and teaching, and a willingness to try new things. He plays multiple instruments, including drums and guitar; and has extensive experience incorporating music into programs. Rabbi Scott plans to expand our youth programming to include toddlers and younger children. He will also take the lead, working in concert with Rabbi Eitan Weiner-Kaplow, in helping design our adult education program.
In addition to a rabbinic ordination and experience, Rabbi Seeg brings significant experience as a teacher, curriculum designer, administrator, youth director, and summer camp instructor. He completed his Rabbinic studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, receiving his Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters in June 2009, and his Rabbinic Ordination in June 2010. He also holds a Master of Arts in Jewish Law and Ethics from HUC-JIR. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Indiana University.
