“Tradition taught with creativity and laughter is a joy to behold.”

"One of the things I love about Shir Hadash is the warm and nurturing school."

A FEW REASONS SHIR HADASH RELIGIOUS SCHOOL IS SO SPECIAL
  • Our smaller size allows Rabbi Eitan to interact with every grade each week and fosters close and trusting relationships between teachers and students

  • Inspires students to care, question, and think deeply about Judaism, the Jewish community and their own personal Jewish identity

  • Engages students with Judaism through both tradition and creativity

  • Encourages and guides students to explore the meaning and relevance of ethics, Jewish history, holidays, God, Torah, and Israel

  • Teaches core subjects of Hebrew, Jewish History, and Culture, plus school outings and specials that broaden the Jewish experience

  • Progressive, Innovative, Engaging, and Nurturing

  • It’s hard to believe, but we do all of this in just one day per week

“The combination of Rabbi Eitan, with his depth of knowledge and song leading talents, Rabbi Marcey's leadership of teachers, and curricula designed to create Jewish citizens of today’s world, encouraging students to forge their own Jewish identities, is phenomenal! You won’t find this magic anywhere else.”

BAR/BAT MITZVAH CEREMONIES DESIGNED AROUND THE STUDENT

Rabbi Eitan works with each student to create a unique ceremony that embraces the skills, interests, learning styles, talents, and abilities of the individual student. The Shir Hadash trademark is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah service which allows the student to shine, while also being meaningful and joyful to all who are present.

We know that preparing for a bar or bat mitzvah is important, yet we also look beyond, toward shaping Jewish adults. Many of our 8th-12th grade students choose to return to our religious school classrooms as madrichim (student teachers), gaining valuable experience and learning to be role models for younger students.

Our classes for 8th-12th graders, Havayah, are fun lunch sessions with Rabbi Eitan geared to demonstrate that really exciting and meaningful Judaic learning happens after Bar/Bat Mitzvah including philosophy, mysticism, and much more.

The fun isn’t only for the kids! While students are in class on Sundays, parents can continue their own Jewish learning through our Adult Education offerings, such as Hebrew, Jewish Philosophy, Torah Study, and guest speakers.

Don’t you and your kids deserve an extraordinary learning experience? RSVP and come check us out on Sunday, May 5.
