Shir Hadash has been a place of prayer, learning, and connection for over thirty years. Today, we are launching a campaign to ensure our spiritual home remains welcoming, accessible, and vibrant for future generations.
Why we need to Fundraise:

Capital Improvements and Renovations: Major projects, such as building improvements and repairs for aging facilities, require specialized capital campaigns.

Operational Costs: Funds pay for utilities, security, and staff salaries and benefits.

Security: With rising threats, many synagogues must raise funds for enhanced security, such as cameras, alarm systems and reinforced entrances.

Programming and Community Support: Funds are needed to support our dynamic Religious School, all-ages educational programs, and creative year-round programming.

Core Value of Community (קהילה - kehillah): Fundraising ensures that our spiritual home remains an accessible and welcoming Jewish gathering place for members and friends of all ages and continues to adapt to meet the community's needs.

​Why This Matters
​
Shir Hadash is a small but growing Reconstructionist congregation that has celebrated a meaningful milestone anniversary.
As we look toward the future, we face a critical financial reality: our building is pledged as collateral for a mortgage that will mature in January 2027. In today’s uncertain economic climate, refinancing would almost certainly mean a dramatically higher interest rate—one that our congregation simply cannot absorb. Because our voluntary dues model does not cover the full cost of our annual mortgage payments, we must turn to the strength of our community.
To preserve our physical spiritual home and ensure that Shir Hadash continues to thrive, we are launching this fundraising campaign that relies on the generosity and commitment of our members and friends.
